Arizona officials say a person was detained on Feb. 10 in connection with the suspected kidnapping ofNancy Guthrie, just hours after authorities released surveillance footage of a potential masked suspect at the 84-year-old's door.
Law enforcement has not identified the person in custody or said whether it's the same person seen in the black and white surveillance footage from Guthrie's home outside Tucson, Arizona. FBI DirectorKash Patelcalled the person in the video a "person of interest," but the person being held has not been characterized that way.
Pima County Sheriff's Department confirmed late on the evening of Feb. 10 that the person detained in Arizona is being questioned in connection with the investigation into what happened to the mother of Savannah Guthrie.

Where was the person detained?
The Pima County Sheriff's Department confirmed that the person authorities were questioning on Feb. 10 was detained south of Tucson. Guthrie's home is located just outside the city.
How was the person brought into custody and why?
Authorities said that they detained the person in connection with the Guthrie case during a traffic stop.
The sheriff's department did not share any information about what prompted officers to stop the person on the road.

Is it the person from the video?
Law enforcement in Arizona has not said yet whether the person being questioned is the same person from the video the FBI released recently.
