Bayern Munich legend Oliver Kahn slams David Alaba’s agent as future remains unclear

Bayern Munich director Oliver Kahn has accused David Alaba’s agent of having a ‘disconnection from reality’ with the Austrian set to leave the club at the end of his contract this summer.
The 28-year-old has been at Bayern for 13 years and while the club have been keen to keep hold of him, a deal could not be made due to Alaba’s huge wage demands.
Things have turned quite nasty between the Bayern chiefs and agent Pini Zahavi, who has been blamed for the lack of progress in contract negotiations.
‘In a certain way, I am actually disaffected because I notice a disconnection from reality, which is breath-taking,’ Kahn told Kicker.
‘We appreciate David Alaba very much, he is an extraordinary person, always friendly and open. Although we tried everything to keep him, no agreement was reached.’

Former Bayern president Uli Hoeness described Zahavi as a ‘greedy piranha’ while sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said his demands were simply unrealistic.
‘At Bayern there is a sporting and financial upper limit: Robert Lewandowski and Manuel Neuer,’ Salihamidzic told Kicker.
‘I don’t think David himself thinks he is above these two colleagues. Zahavi thinks in other dimensions. He can, but we won’t follow him. We won’t do crazy things like he might know from other clubs, and certainly not at a time when sales and profits are collapsing, in football as everywhere in business life.’
Zahavi is also Lewandowski’s agent, though, and has disputed that his requests are anywhere near the Pole’s wages, telling Sky Germany: ‘Mr Salihamidzic has apparently forgotten who Robert Lewandowski’s agent is.
‘I negotiated Robert’s contract last year and logically I know exactly what he deserves. What we’re asking for David is well below Robert’s salary.’
Alaba’s next club is still unknown, although he is not short of options with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City, PSG and Juventus all interested.
He will be a free transfer, which allows for higher wages to be paid, but reports suggest Zahavi is looking for £400,000-a-week for his client, which will put off plenty of suitors.
