Cheltenham tips: Paisley Park can make up for last year’s disappointment

Day Three of the Cheltenham Festival and the Irish banker, Envoi Allen, runs in the opening ‘Marsh Novice Chase’.
The undefeated seven-year-old is an exceptional talent and has won on his two previous visits to Prestbury Park.
The first of those wins was in the Champion Bumper while the second in the Ballymore Novices Hurdle. He has taken to fences with real relish and, at odds of 4/6, it is impossible to make a cogent case against him. Just sit back and enjoy the spectacle.
The ‘Plate’ at 3.40pm is a typically difficult Cheltenham Handicap but Fils D’oudairies has good from with the aforementioned Envoi Allen. He doesn’t look to the overly burdened with a handicap mark of 145 and could run well at predicted odds of 10/1.
Saint Calvados was runner up in to Min in the Ryanair Chase last year and I fancy him to go one better in the event this year.

He unseated his jockey when last seen but that is an anomaly in an otherwise unblemished completion record over fences or hurdles.
The drying ground will be in his favour and he has sound each way claims.
The feature event, at 3.05pm, is the ‘Stayers Hurdle’ and although Paisley Park blotted his copy book in last years renewal he had a valid excuse – a fibrillating heart – and has shown his wellbeing in recent months.
His neck defeat of Thyme Hill in Ascot reads particularly well and at 2/1 he looks to have a favourites chance.
