Franco Baresi names the Manchester United player he would love AC Milan to sign
AC Milan legend Francesco Baresi would love to see Manchester United star Marcus Rashford line up for the Rossoneri.
United welcome the Italian giants to Old Trafford on Thursday night in the glamour tie of the Europa League round of 16.
Bruno Fernandes has been United’s stand-out player this season while Edinson Cavani scored 141 goals during his time in Italy with Palermo and Napoli, but Baresi picks Rashford as the United player he would most like to see don the famous red and black.
‘I like Marcus Rashford a lot, he’s an extraordinary player, Baresi told The Times. ‘He wouldn’t be bad for Milan. He can play in any position up front; it would be a nice advantage.
‘Rashford is a modern forward who has everything required to do well. He has already shown and done great things and he has a lot of quality.’
Rashford is set to miss out against Milan having picked up an ankle injury in Sunday’s derby victory over Manchester City.
United could also be without Cavani with David de Gea, Donny van de Beek and Juan Mata all set to miss out on Thursday.
Milan travel without a number of key players themselves, chiefly Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is hopeful of returning from injury in time for the second leg.
Ismaël Bennacer, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Theo Hernandez and Ante Rebic have also missed the trip to Manchester.
