Manchester United legend Roy Keane wants Celtic job to take on Rangers boss Steven Gerrard

Roy Keane has told close friends he’s ready to return to management and would jump at the chance of managing former club Celtic.
The former Republic of Ireland captain saw our his career with the Bhoys, having moved to Parkhead after 12 years at Old Trafford with Manchester United.
Keane has been out of management since managing Ipswich in 2011, though he’s had assistant roles with Ireland, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa since then.
The 49-year-old turned down Celtic earlier in his career as he did not feel the time was right to move to Parkhead but the Bhoys are looking to wrestle the title back from Steven Gerrard’s Rangers next term and Keane is up for the challenge, according to the Sun.

Celtic have been without a manager since Neil Lennon parted ways with the Glasgow giants and the club are expected to wait until the summer to make a permanent appointment.
However, the process is already well underway and Keane is said to appeal to Celtic’s board as he does not have an existing backroom staff.
The club want to keep their existing structure in place by appointing a figurehead manager, meaning Keane could slot in perfectly at Celtic Park.
Rangers’ title victory ended Celtic’s hopes of an unprecedented ten-in-a-row and the club know they must respond to their Old Firm rivals, who have made great strides under Gerrard.
Keane is said to have the backing of Celtic legend Martin O’Neil, who he worked under during in the Ireland set-up.
