These are the 10 tallest buildings in downtown Chicago

Chicago is home to some of the tallest buildings in the country, with some spanning more than 1,000 feet from base to tip.

But which Windy City skyscrapers are the tallest?The Skyscraper Center, created bythe Council on Vertical Urbanism, ranked the city's highest-reaching buildings.

Here are the top 10.

1. Willis Tower

233 South Wacker Drive

Skydeck Chicago, located on the 103rd floor of Willis Tower, 233 S. Wacker Dr., was named one of USA Today's Most Treasured Views in America.

Formerly the Sears Tower,the Willis Toweris the tallest skyscraper in Chicago, standing at 1,450 feet with 110 stories. Construction on the tower finished in 1973, making it a significant part of the city's skyline for more than 50 years. Today, the Willis Tower gives tourists and Chicago residents alike the chance to view the city from its dizzying Skydeck and explore its five floors of dining and retail.

2. Trump International Hotel & Tower

401 N. Wabash Ave.

Trump International Hotelis 1,388 feet tall and 92 floors, making it the second tallest building in Chicago.

Situated along the Chicago River, the luxury hotel offers breathtaking views of the city, along with a spa, rooftop restaurant and ballroom, all within walking distance of the Magnificent Mile.

3. St. Regis Building

363 E. Wacker Drive

TheSt. Regis Chicago Hotelis 1,198 feet tall with more than 100 stories, built as recently as 2020. The hotel offers guests access to fine dining, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a lush spa and more.

The building also contains residential properties, from one-bedroom suites to five-bedroom penthouses, giving residents a breathtaking view of the skyline.

4. Aon Center

200 E. Randolph St.

The Aon Centerstands at 1,136 feet with 83 floors, constructed back in 1972 in Chicago's East Loop.

The corporate building offers sweeping views of the lake and is located within walking distance of local icons like Millennium Park, Maggie Daily Park and the Art Institute of Chicago.

5. 875 N Michigan Ave

6. The Franklin Chicago

227 W. Monroe St.

The Franklinstands at 1,007 feet and is home to workspaces, a conference center, gaming lounge, fitness center and more.

Built in the late 1980s, the office building offers a skyline view at its 44th floor Sky Lobby and bar.

7. Two Prudential Plaza

180 N. Stetson Ave.

Across the street from Millennium Park,Two Prudential Plazastands at a staggering height of 995 feet.

The building was originally built in 1955 as One Prudential Plaza, before 58 more stories were added in 1990. Now known as "Two Pru," The skyscraper houses high-end office spaces, an 11th floor roof deck, a fitness center, café lounge and more.

8. One Chicago

14 W. Superior St.

Located in Chicago's River North neighborhood,One Chicagois 971 feet tall and only a few years old.

The facility houses luxury apartments, a resort and spa, outdoor swimming pool and a Whole Foods Market on its ground floor.

9. 311 South Wacker Drive

311 S. Wacker Drive

This skyscraper stands at 961 feet and 65 stories, housing restaurants and business offices alike.

The bottom floors of the building are home to what's called a "winter garden," allowing guests to relax in a space of lush flora, while upper floors contain a conference center, fitness center and more.

10. NEMA Chicago

1210 S. Indiana Ave.

One of the newer buildings on the list,NEMA Chicagostands at 896 feet in the city's South Loop.

NEMA offers an array of apartments that are part of what it calls its "Skyline Collection," located among its top 28 floors with unobstructed views of Grant Park, Lake Michigan and the rest of the Windy City. The building houses a private movie theater, several lounges and a resort-style outdoor deck with a sunning pool.
