Becca Tilley revealed that her December proposal to Haley Kiyoko had an unintentional connection to one of her fiancée's journal entries from six years ago
"I can definitely see myself with Becca forever. Getting married," the Lemonade Mouth star wrote in a 2019 journal entry while on vacation in Japan
Tilley proposed to Kiyoko in Japan in December, five months after her fiancée initially popped the question

On Dec. 20, theBacheloralum, 37, revealed that her proposal to theLemonade Mouthstar, 34, just weeks prior had an unintentional connection to a journal entry her fiancée wrote six years ago.
"Hayley and I went to Japan in 2019 before we were out publicly and during our trip to Kyoto, we stayed at the Four Seasons and had the best couple of days," Tilley wrote alongside several photos from the dreamy trip onInstagram. "We've always talked and dreamed about coming back."
She continued, "Earlier this year, Hayley mentioned to me that it was on that trip, at this hotel — in the exact spot of the first photo — where she had a moment of realizing she wanted to spend forever with me."

Indeed, a photo of the entry, written on Dec. 6, 2019, featured Kiyoko's handwriting documenting that the trip "felt like my honeymoon with Becca" and that she could "definitely see myself with Becca forever. Getting married."
"I feel that so strongly right now," she concluded on the page.
Tilley went on to explain in the caption that, ever since the magical trip, she had always dreamed about getting the chance to propose there.
"With the help of the team@fskyoto&@ssgoldtravel, we pulled it off," she wrote, referring to the couple'ssecond engagement. "It was the most special experience! The craziest thing is I did not plan the day I proposed around any significant date, but I proposed to her on December 6 2025. Look at the date of her journal entry from 2019🥰."

Five months before Tilley got down on one knee in Kyoto, Kiyoko had alreadypopped the question by a body of crystal-blue waterin July.
"My dream girl said yes to forever…" Kiyoko captioned theirengagement photosat the time. In other snaps, the couple could also be seen lovingly embracing each other while showing off the reality star's new bling.
After the pair began dating in late 2018, Kiyoko told PEOPLE five years later that Tilley hadchanged the way she viewed relationships.

"Our journey has been wonderful and beautiful. I think I've [also] healed a lot of my younger self in my relationship with Becca," she said in May 2023. "I realized that we're all on so many different parts of our [coming out] journeys."
"Just because we're in two different places in our journey doesn't mean that we can't still coexist and love each other and have an incredible relationship, until she's ready to share that with everyone," she continued. "I've been so grateful for our relationship and our journey, andour decision to keep our relationship privatefor so long. I also love being able to share our relationship as well."
