More than three months after herviral one-word reactionto her surprising elimination fromDWTSseason 34 in September, the"Ego"singer, 29, reflected on saying she was "pissed" on live TV.

Speaking with PEOPLE in an exclusive interview atThe Hollywood Reporterand Spotify's pre-Golden Globes party in Los Angeles on Thursday, Jan. 8, theFifth Harmonyalum revealed how she feels now about the elimination.

"Time healed the wounds," Jauregui said, then warned, "In the moment, don't ever put a microphone in my face on live camera after you eliminate me off something, baby. I'm always going to be mad."

She continued, "I could have probably been a bit more eloquent in that moment. But you know, whatever. She was pissed. She was pissed. It's true."

On the Sept. 30 episode of the ABC dance competition, Jauregui and her pro dance partner,Brandon Armstrong, were eliminated in week 3 during the TikTok-themed night. Asked how she was feeling immediately after the elimination, Jauregui responded candidly with, "Pissed."

In a previousinterview with PEOPLEin October, the "Lento" singer elaborated on the real-time emotions she felt during the live send-off.

"There's a lot of pressure that happens when you're in front of millions of people and feeling something really vulnerable and then have a mic shoved into your face and asked how you feel," she said at the time. "And If I'm thinking it, I'm going to say it."

Jauregui continued, "In my mind I was like, 'Oh my God, I'm so upset. I'm so sad. This isn't supposed to happen.' [That] was just what my brain was telling me, and then the only word that came out of my mouth was 'pissed,' which is an interesting one."

At the pre-Golden Globes event, she also discussed her single, "Ego," which came out just after herDWTSjourney ended. "It's a soft rock song about being introspective and just laying down your ego to find yourself an honest connection. I think we all need to do that," Jauregui said.
