New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said on Monday that one of three devices found outside Gracie Mansion, the mayor's official residence, contained "a dangerous and highly volatile homemade explosive that has been used in IED attacks around the world."

Two people, Emir Balat and Ibrahim Kayumi, were in custody after police said they attempted to ignite explosives during protests outside Mamdani's home on Saturday, March 7.
The "Stop the Islamic Takeover of New York City" rally was led by a conservative influencer, and was met by a large large crowd of counterprotesters.
