FAA employee fired by DOGE sounds alarm over safety

A Federal Aviation Administration employee who was recently impacted by the mass firings at the hands of Elon Musk's Department of Governmental Efficiency is speaking out about the potentially disastrous impacts of the cuts. David Spero, the National President of the Professional Aviation Specialists, announced on February 15 that 132 probationary employees with the FAA were notified via email that their positions were terminated. Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy responded in a statement that fewer than 400 people were fired, none of whom were air traffic controllers or critical safety personnel.
