US to pledge $2 billion in assistance for those facing hunger, disease in 2026

GENEVA/WASHINGTON, Dec 29 (Reuters) - The United ​States will ‌pledge $2 billion in life-saving ‌assistance to tens of millions of people facing ⁠hunger ‌and disease in dozens of ‍countries next year, the State Department ​said in ‌a statement on Monday.

The money will be overseen by the United ⁠Nations Office ​for the ​Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, according ‍to ⁠the statement.
