Behold, the Best and Worst Jokes From Nikki Glaser's Opening Monologue at the 2026 Golden Globes

The 83rd Annual Golden Globes air on CBS at 8 p.m. EST on Jan. 11.

  • Comedian Nikki Glaser is back to host the coveted awards show for the second consecutive year.

  • Here are the best jokes from her opening monologue this year.

Nikki Glaserhas returned to host theGolden Globesfor a second year in a row—and she didn't hold back during her opening monologue. The comedian is known for her celebrity roasts over the years, so of course, she playfully made jabs at celebs like Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael B. Jordan, and, yes, even the Property Brothers.

After the success of last year's show, Nikki admitted that she is a "huge fan" of the celebs she makes fun of during the nearly 10-minute monologue.

As for her approach at this year? "I am a huge fan of these people," she told Gayle King during the January 6 episode ofCBS Mornings. "It's easy for me to take down the newer batch of actresses and actors who are younger than me. It's like, 'Okay, I can make fun of you. I'm like a veteran.' But when it's people that I grew up admiring, it's a different approach this year."

"You have to be very delicate about making jokes that aren't going to ruin anyone's night," she continued. "But you also want to give the people at home something to laugh at, and you want to poke fun at the people that they're dying for you to make fun of. People at home want you to make fun of the A-listers."

And make fun of the A-listers she did! Here are the best (and worst) jokes from Nikki Glaser's 2026 Golden Globes monologue.

Comparing internet boyfriends

The punchline here is that Nikki's mom can't ever tell them apart. Enter: Jacob Elordi and Paul Mescal being the butt of that joke. They seemed to take it pretty well.

Flirting with Michael B. Jordan

We're still blushing at this one. Nikki (like most of us) openly flirted withSinners' Michael B. Jordan after commending him for his performance as Smoke and Stack.

"I can't believe it. We got two Michael B. Jordans. When I saw that, I was like, Nikki B. jerking, because that was awesome," she said, before apologizing to Michael's mom, who was sitting beside him. Awwwwkward.

Calling Out CBS as See B.S. News

Even though CBS is airing the Golden Globes, they weren't marked safe from one of Nikki's jokes. She mocked CBS News when she said, "The award for most editing goes to CBS News, America's newest place to 'see B.S.' news."

…And giving a nod to the Epstein Files

Nikki came in hot! She started her monologue with a politically-charged punchline aimed at the show's coveted guest, saying, "There's so many A-listers. And by A-listers, I do mean people who are on a list that has been heavily redacted." Oop.

Making several jokes about Kevin Hart's height

"Kevin Hart is here. Yes, The Rock's plus one-half," Nikki said as she introduced the comedian, who was in attendance with his wife, Eniko.

She later toldWickedstarAriana Grande, "Ariana, I would listen to you sing the phone book. Grab the one Kevin Hart's sitting on tonight."

Of course, including a jab at Leonardo DiCaprio's dating history

The internet's long-standing joke that Leo only dates women under the age of 25 has made it to the Globes. Nikki gave him kudos for his movie,One Battle After Another, adding, "The most impressive thing is you were able to accomplish all of those things before your girlfriend turned 30."

She then apologized for taking that angle, leading into her next punchline. "We don't know anything else about you, man. Like, open up," she said. "I looked! I searched! The most in-depth interview you've ever given was inTeen Beat Magazinein 1991. Is your favorite food still pasta, pasta, and more pasta?" Leo seemed to enjoy this bit as he responded, "Yes."
