Edu spent Monday breaking the news of his resignation to colleagues at Arsenal's training facility in London Colney. Mail Sport's bombshell exclusive that the Gunners' sporting director was leaving had caught many members of staff on the hop. There was genuine upset at the news. A popular figure at Arsenal, the 46-year-old is courteous, amiable and caring. The players enjoy his company, too. This news arrived like a bolt out of the blue, though certain figures towards the top of the club's internal structures have been aware of what was confirmed Monday evening for a fortnight or so.

Real Madrid are auctioning off several iconic artefacts from the club's history after completing the Santiago Bernabeu renovation, with legendary lockers from their dressing room set to feature as the main attraction to bidders. Changing room cabinets previously attributed to Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Zinedine Zidane, Sergio Ramos, David Beckham and Luis Figo will form part of a 24-locker collection. The lockers will be placed on sale for two weeks with bidding open from November 12 and a reserve price set on each individual display of £10,000.

Former Arsenal sporting director Edu has spoken out following his shock decision to leave the club. Mail Sport exclusively revealed that the 46-year-old was departing Arsenal on Monday following discussions with the club's hierarchy. It later emerged that the Brazilian is poised to join up with Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis after agreeing to deal to work with his network of clubs. The news will no doubt come as a significant blow for the Gunners given the impact he has had since his return to the club in 2019, initially as technical director.
