Danny Murphy believes Jurgen Klopp will have a ‘decision to make’ over out-of-form Alisson Becker if his high-profile errors continue.
Alisson, who has been a key part of Klopp’s success at Anfield, was at fault for Leicester’s second goal against Liverpool on Saturday, having made two blunders in a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Manchester City a weekend earlier.
That has seen pressure applied to the Brazil international, who is widely considered to be one of the world’s best goalkeepers.
Caoimhin Kelleher has proven a useful understudy in Alisson’s absence this season and may find himself challenging for the No. 1 shirt if his form continues.
While Murphy thinks it would be premature to drop Alisson for Tuesday’s Champions League tie with Red Bull Leipzig, he thinks another clanger would place him in the firing line.
‘Alisson was wrong to race out of goal,’ the former Reds midfielder told the Daily Mail. ‘I think he was still smarting from his mistakes at Manchester City and trying too hard to be proactive.

‘Jordan Henderson and Alisson have been cornerstones of Liverpool’s great success. Now Henderson has had to vacate midfield to cover in defence while Alisson is making unexpected blunders.
‘He was ill before the City game and didn’t look right when kicking the ball straight to the opposition. You can only judge how he feels when you train with him, but I don’t think from this distance that it is a physical thing.
‘With a goalkeeper of his experience you have to let him play through it. It would be premature to leave him out of the Leipzig game in midweek or the Merseyside derby next weekend.
‘Now, if things go badly again, there is a decision to make.’
