A week on from leading England's Under-21 side to the European Championship title in Georgia and Romania last year, head coach Lee Carsley was pitch side at Solihull Moors. Carsley brought along the trophy which has helped to propel him to being a leading candidate to succeed Gareth Southgate as the the full-time boss of the men's senior team. England's new interim coach presented the silverware to the Solihull Moors Foundation and spoke with young players involved with the Midlands club.

An emotional Luis Suarez was honoured by his Uruguay team-mates as he made his 143rd, and final, international appearance on Friday. In a World Cup qualifier against Paraguay at the Estadio Centenario, Suarez led the line and wore the captain's armband for Marcelo Bielsa's side as they were held to a goalless draw. Suarez is Uruguay's all-time record goalscorer, with his record of 69 in 143 appearances leaving him well-clear of former Man United forward Edinson Cavani in second place.
