Selena Gomez Says Her Current Beauty Era Is 'Flirty' and 'a Little Sexy' (Exclusive)

Selena Gomezis feeling herself.

While celebrating the launch of Rare Beauty in Ulta Beauty at the El Segundo, Calif., location on Saturday, Jan. 31, the singer and actress, 33, opened up about her current beauty era, which she described to PEOPLE as "classic, maybe a little sexy."

"I feel flirty," she continued. "I still feel young, I think. I like a little flirty, classic look."

Gomez also described how "surreal" it was to see her products in Ulta Beauty stores. "I came in the other night and it was just, it was one of those surreal moments," she shared. "It just felt so official."

In addition to partnering with Rare Beauty, the cosmetics chain is helping facilitate charitable donations for the month of February. "If you buy any product, not even Rare, you can choose to make a donation and 50 percent of it will go to the Ulta Beauty Charitable Foundation and the other 50 percent will go to the Rare Impact Fund," Gomez explains.

She adds, "I'm so stoked that they're being so supportive of the brand, but also our mission."

Gomez's Rare Impact Fund helps young people access mental heath services. According to the brand, the nonprofit has mobilized over $20 million and supported 30 nonprofit organizations across five continents since its inception, reaching more than 2.2 million young people annually.

While speaking with PEOPLE, Gomez says that she feels the most empowered when "doing work within my community."

"I think that's the best part is being able to connect with people and that's what I'm so excited about," theOnly Murders in the Buildingstar explains. "This next era will be very much me just embracing everyone, hopefully."

The couple red carpet in coordinating classic Hollywood-inspired looks, with Gomez opting for a statement-making custom gown by Chanel. The long black velvet bustier dress was embellished withwhite flowers made of feathers, silk chiffon and silk organza. The star also added Chanel shoes and Chanel High Jewelry. The intricate gown required 323 hours to make and features roughly 200 embroidered elements.

For her glam, Gomez opted for a short wavy hairstyle and sported a deep burgundy lip for added drama.

Meanwhile, Blanco, 37, kept it simple in a black suit, letting his accessories really shine. The music producer topped off his look with a dazzling silver necklace and coordinating embellished loafers. He also wore a Jacob & Co. Diamond Boutique Timepiece featuring24.06 carats and valued at $700,000.

Gomez and Blanco, who wed on Sept. 27, 2025, made theirfirst red carpet appearance as a married coupleat the Academy Museum Gala on Oct. 18, 2025.
