Thomas Tuchel gives Thiago Silva injury update ahead of Manchester United clash

Thomas Tuchel says Thiago Silva has not yet fully recovered from injury and will miss Chelsea’s clash against Manchester United on Sunday, but hopes to have the defender back in full training next week.
Silva, 36, was taken off in the 1-0 win over London rivals Tottenham earlier this month with a thigh issue and is yet to feature for the Blues since then.
The centre-back has become a key figure in Chelsea’s defence since moving to Stamford Bridge on a free transfer last summer and was pleased to be reunited with Tuchel having played under the 47-year-old for two years at Paris Saint-Germain.

The Blues head into their clash against second-placed United at Stamford Bridge just two points off the top four places.
Although Tuchel will be without Silva again, he admitted that the Brazil international is making ‘big progress’ in his recovery.
‘No more injury concerns and no Thiago cannot play on Sunday,’ said Tuchel on Friday.
‘He did an individual session today but a session on the pitch and felt it was a big progress, a big step ahead for him
‘So I hope he will join the group next week.’
On facing a United side are still unbeaten away from in the Premier League this season, Tuchel added: ‘Hopefully we win, we know this is a big challenge.
‘They are unbeaten away so we know what we are up against. They have individual quality, can hurt you with speed, they are strong team away from home, defend very compact, very good in transitions.’
