Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hints at first team call-up for Manchester United wonderkid Joe Hugill

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted it won’t be too long until academy prospect Joe Hugill will get his chance in the first team.
The striker scored four times in a 6-3 win against Liverpool on Saturday as the Red Devils’ U23s dismantled their arch rivals.
The game grabbed more attention than usual as Amad Diallo was making his first appearance for United since his £37million move from Serie A side Atalanta.
Diallo, 18, scored twice in the rout and given United have earned just one point from the last six in the Premier League, pressure is building on Solskjaer to give the Ivorian his first team debut.
However, Solskjaer says Diallo will be given more time to settle into life in the north-west and that Hugill would be the most likely call-up from the U23s, as he took his tally to eight goals in 11 appearances this term.

‘We’re going to give him [Diallo] the time to settle in and keep showing his skills, improving, get used to England and our way,’ said Solskjaer.
‘If we go from that game [Liverpool Under-23s], I’d pick Joe Hugill.’
It follows comments from Saturday in which Solskjaer talked up Hugill, describing him as a ‘top striker’.
‘Four goals by Hugill, he’s a top striker as well, we’re looking forward to seeing his development,’ said Solskjaer.
‘Amad gets a good start and why Joe didn’t take the penalty himself to get five goals I’m going to ask him.’
United take on Southampton at Old Trafford on Tuesday as they look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League, having gone two matches without a win.
