Turkish Super Lig club Galatasaray have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen on loan. The wantaway striker was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea throughout the summer transfer window, with a move to the Premier League his 'dream', but the Blues could not get the deal done. Osimhen had also come close to a move to Al-Ahli after the Saudi Arabian club agreed a deal to sign the Nigerian forward, but he decided to reject the move.

A handicap race at Craon in France on Monday briefly descended into chaos after a parked car was left in the middle of the track on the approach to a fence. Luckily, all seven horses avoided the vehicle and cleared the fence - which was No 14 of 16 - cleanly but only after multiple jockeys were forced to take evasive action. Axel Lepage, aboard the clear leader J'Irai Loin, stayed well away of the car, passing to its left side.

Graeme Souness has claimed that Kobbie Mainoo is not good enough to be a regular starter for Manchester United. Mainoo has become a prominent player for both United and England since his first team breakthrough last November. The 19-year-old scored in the FA Cup final win over Manchester City in May and also started in England's Euro 2024 final defeat by Spain. The midfielder had a day to forget against Liverpool and was at fault for the third goal as he was pickpocketed by Alexis Max Allister, with Mohamed Salah eventually scoring in a 3-0 win for the Merseyside club.

But Carragher, after serving a period away from British television screens having been caught on camera spitting out of his car window at another driver, was welcomed back by the broadcasters shortly after the controversy in 2018.
