September 1998 was the last time Nottingham Forest were in the top three places of England's football pyramid. By January, manager Dave Bassett had been sacked and four months later Forest were relegated to the second tier. Perhaps that is why Nuno Espirito Santo knows better than to talk up his team's chances of finishing in the European places this season. Forest already have 19 points, just 13 shy of their total for last season.

The match seemed destined for a draw after goals from former Manchester United midfielder Fred, and Edin Dzeko, levelled the game at 2-2 heading into the 12th minute of stoppage time. However, as all hope seemed lost fellow ex-United man Amrabat found the top corner with the last kick of the game.

Following the departure of Erik ten Hag, United have moved to appoint Sporting boss Amorim following a week of heavy links with the highly-regarded 39-year-old head coach. Amorim will become United head coach on November 11, subject to work visa requirements, replacing temporary interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy. Other major clubs have previously attempted to secure the services of the 39-year-old, though, with several Premier League clubs in the last 12 months linked with his services.
